In case you didn't know, Tea Party Rep. Joe Walsh of Illinois has been a dead beat dad even while he has been a public representative! Walsh owes $117,347 in back child support payments to his ex-wife Laura. These payments have been piling up for over nine years.
Meanwhile, Walsh has been spending plenty of money to finance his political career, as well as to fund outings with his girlfriend! Now give me a break! For the entire time that he has been in government office, taxpayers have been supporting him, he has been supporting his political career and girlfriend, but he has not been taking care of his children!
Question: Is it all right for government officials to live off the system while failing to pay child support to their children?
My Answer: I find this appalling and do not believe Walsh, or any government official, should be able to remain in office while being a dead beat dad (or mom in the case of women)! At the very least, his checks should be garnished in order to send support to his children's mother!
